About Me
Hi, I am Erkin. I live in Krakow and I am 27 years old. Compared to the average age of amateur radio operators in Turkey, I am considered quite young. I completed my degree in Management Information Systems at Bartin University and I work as a freelance web designer, using various programming languages.
In addition, I served as the president of the Turkey Radio Amateurs Association Denizli Branch from December 2022 to January 2023. My call sign in Poland is SP9AQG.
Currently, I am pursuing a master's degree in International Business at WSB University in Krakow. My interest in amateur radios started when I was young, with a simple radio toy from a toy store. I wanted to satisfy my curiosity about how communication can be made over long distances without any additional stations or fees.
At the age of 12, I experimented with simple FM transmitter circuits and combined radios with my homemade transmitter circuits to understand the concept of two-way radios.
In 2012, I discovered amateur radio through a video on YouTube. I attempted to take my first exam in 2017, but I couldn't find the time to take the exam. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I couldn't take the exam until there was a change in the exam dates and locations in 2019. During this time, I used my spare time to prepare for the exam and obtained my C class (Technician - TB4PKP) license.
After purchasing my first radio, I began talking through the repeater in my area and met my first friend, TA4ABJ Sercan EYGI, through this hobby. Sercan and I participated in various events (such as SSTV) together. Based on Sercan's suggestion, I upgraded my C class license to an A class (Amateur Extra License).
Currently, I am answering common questions asked by amateur radio enthusiasts in the region and making new friends. If you would like to meet me or ask a question, please feel free to reach me via email.
